Reverend Wood was Pastor of the New Ipswich Congregational Church Dec 1880 - Feb 1883. Photo was given to the New Ipswich Historical Society by Miss Caroline Lowe.

No Mow Nightmare

I didn't mow my lawn in May and it enjoyed the opportunity to reach for the sky. I set my EGO mower on the highest setting and tackled the knee high meadow. The mower plowed throught quite well since the motor speeds up based on the load. It took several battery charges but it is done, It is not neat but subsequent mowings might bring into order. I avoided a patch of what appears to be wild dianthus and some kind of blue weed which the bees favored. I was dismayed to see how the invasive Petasites had taken over a patch. I'll need to go at that with a machete (see photos). Happily the "good" invader Canada anemone has spread. More flowers, less lawn, happier beneficial bugs. I also saw that a house wren was in the bird house. Welcome to my personal jungle.
