Daily Journal - Tuesday - 14 May 2024

A warm spring day, a light breeze kept the black flies at bay. Yoga class this morning at Willow Tree Studio in New Ipswich. We had a little coffee social after class. After lunch I attempted to do some chores. I transported some crocomosia corms to a nearly cleared section. After that I started to tackle a pile of logged trees that I need to cut up for firewood. I had forgotten how physically demanding it is to cut firewood, That chore only lasted a short time, especially when it warmed into the upper 70s. After that I decided to take out the camera and document Springtime. A hummingbird visited the feeder, I saw that the lilacs were blooming as well as the almond tree that Lorri Rodier has given me, Almost all the trees are leafed out. Lots of bird activity. it is a lot easier to sit on the deck under a hummingbird feeder with a camera than  cut up trees with a chainsaw.

Daily Picture Theme

The Daily Picture Theme on Spoutible is on hiatus, should return in a couple of days; Everyone needs a vacation, even social media sites.

On This Date

I was at my son's house on this date in 2023 for a Mother's Day BBQ. I had my Nikon P1000 with me and was able to get a telephoto shot of an Orchard Oriole that was visiting his feeder. My son lives near a river and apparently the Orchard Orioles are more common around water.
