Ella and Louie

A Visit With Ella and Louie
My friend Carl Toko loves jazz. So it was natural that he would name his female and male kittens after Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong.
Since we do not currently have a cat I never pass up the opportunity to spend some time with these creatures.
Louie
When I enter the house, Louie runs off. He is the timid one. Eventually he comes back to check out who has entered his space. I purposely lay on the floor at his level for this photo. When you try to out-stare a cat you will always lose.
Ella
Unlike Louie, Ella wastes no time sniffing my jacket and wandering over to see what makes me tick. Louie hangs back to see how I will behave. It is amazing to see how animals have distinct personalities.
This photoshoot took place while Carl was on the phone with some Historical Society business. I was perfectly at peace watching his cats.
In typical fashion they managed to knock my camera case off the table. That has to be a universal trait for cats.
