Gro smiles with the leaves
Gro is a troll created by Danish artist Thomas Dambo who is known for using recycled wood to create large, ambitious sculptures. The Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens has five of his troll sculptures. Each Troll represents an aspect or feature of trees. Gro represents leaves, which provide food for the tree and oxygen for us. Gro disappears in fall when the leaves fall to replenish the soil.

Gro is the wanderer. Every fall she disappears, but the trolls are not worried because every spring she returns to the forest. On her return, Gro walks around to make sure every friend of hers is fed. After hurrying to catch a few sunbeams and a handful of raindrops, she creates a feast for the forest.

The February Cold Snap
We had a couple of extremely cold days in February of 2023. I am very concerned about the health of my Peach tree and my Japanese Maple. They have just a small number of leaves, I am especially upset about the Japanese Maple which I've had for many year. It is my favorite tree. I may not know the full extent of the damage till 2024.
