Repair Clinic (aka Repair Cafe)
The Repair Cafe is open from 10 AM to 2 PM on the second Saturday of the month at the MAxT Makerspace at 49 Vose Farm Road in Peterborough, NH. Volunteers are available to help people fix items that would normally be discarded in a landfill.

I have my own ideas about repairs. When the safety interlock switch failed on my washing machine, I found a YouTube video that explained how to fix it. Rather than replace the unit, I shunted it out of the circuit. The washer works fine, but I have to remember not to open the door during the spin cycle.
When I arrived the volunteers were trying to troubleshoot a DVD player that wouldn't load the disc. Another testimonial for online streaming media.

We've come a long way since the treadle sewing machine. This one looks like it could make breakfast for you. A similar one arrived at our recycling center a few weeks before this posting.

MAxT Woodworking Shop
I have a table saw in my basement that I haven't used in 40 years. It is piled with stuff. It would be so much better to rent out some time here to work on a project. Also less chance of cutting off a finger or two. This workshop is awesome.
The Phaze Welding Technology Center is also located in the building which has a certification program for welding. When I visited they were refurbishing a steel framework for an aggregate conveyor belt.
