MeWe Groups

Google will be closing the Google+ service in April 2019. This will impact a private Google+ community that I created for friends and family. I've been a shopping spree looking for alternatives which are easy to use and protective of member's privacy.

MeWe seems to be the product that might be the best replacement for my family group. The interface is simple and uncluttered and most importantly ad-free.

Almost immediately I was flooded with membership requests from Spambots, programs that harvest email and blog addresses to spread spam and malicious software. My strategy to combat this annoyance is ask potential members some questions to verify that they are human.
