Retirement - Year 6
Another year of retirement checked off on the Ides of March, 2023. I'm still busy and enjoying this chapter of my life.

Winter Storm

With just a few days of Winter left, we were slammed with a powerful Nor'easter. I spent my retirement anniversary day tending a generator and shoveling snow. There is a lot of snow to shovel, our town had 34 inches of wet heavy snow. I now have a glacier that blocks the fill pipe for my oil tank. I hope it melts before I need more oil.

Daily Routine
My morning routine has not changed over this year of retirement. After I publish a daily newsletter for the New Ipswich Historical Society I settle down with a cup of coffee to solve the daily Wordle puzzle in the New York Times. I've added the New York Times Mini-Crossword as an additional brain exercise. A small group of us continue with our Qijong and Tai Chi practice on weekday mornings.
Photography
I intend to branch out a bit and experiment with some Macro and Infrared photography this next year. Can't wait to start photographing little creatures. I found this one in our bathtub. Cute isn't she?

I decided to go a bit deeper into the infrared spectrum in photography. I had a camera converted with an internal 830nm filter which is more infrared than the 790nm one I use before. This will prove to be an interesting challenge. I can't wait to try it on those July days with puffy clouds and plenty of green leaves.

Music and Clutter
Covid is still with us, but there have been more opportunities to play music with other folks. We are all emerging from our Pandemic cocoons. My work on decluttering my life is not going well. Maybe I should just learn to embrace it all. Surround myself with my "stuff".
