Fifteen years ago we were in the midst of the Presidential Primary season with a parade of candidates visiting our state. On this day I was able to see both John McCain and Elizabeth Edwards in Peterborough, NH. This is the advantage of holding the first Presidential Primary in the nation. Sadly that might became a thing of the past in 2024 if the parties change the schedule.

I didn't share the political philosophy of Senator McCain but he was very engaging on the stump. I'm nostalgic about how civil politics were in those days. McCain even invited a protestor to speak. Nothing like that exists today.
