Dining with a view

Kogetsu at the Boiler House is a popular Asian restaurant which is our favorite venue for birthday and anniversary celebrations. It has outdoor dining with a view of a impressive waterfall.

I wanted to try out a new feature on my camera that does a computational neutral density filter. It is possible to do hand-held long exposures. Long exposures are a great way to photograph waterfalls and moving water. It worked very well. I took this photo on April 4, 2022.

The Tiny Stone Cottages

Kogetsu is located at 50 Jaffrey Road in Peterborough, NH.  I was always aware of a number of small stone structures on a hillside directly across the street from the restaurant. The road is heavily traveled and there is no safe way to see these. However I did have  telephoto lens with me and was able to click a few photos between speeding cars. These "little cottages" are quite intriguing.

The next structure is not a cottage, Could it be an altar?a fairy house? I have no idea who made these things but they have been here as long as I remember. I wonder if anyone else notices these as they speed by on Route 202.

There is even a Nativity (with no Joseph). This is barely visible from the road, but I was able to pick it out with a telephoto lens.

It's too bad that this work is so unapproachable. A lot of time and effort went into its creation.
